John McManus is a member of the Dayton Board of Education, having been elected in November of 2015 by the people of the Dayton City School District. The District incorporates most of the City of Dayton, as well as portions of the City of Trotwood, the City of Riverside, Harrison Township, and Jefferson Township.
In his capacity, John serves as the Chairman of the Dayton Public Schools Accountability Panel (Business Advisory Council), where he works with community and business leaders to build a strategic path for the district. John is also a member of the Board of Education's Policy Committee, where he takes an active role in crafting District policy before being voted on by the the full Board of Education. He serves as Chairman member of the Superintendent, Treasurer, and Internal Auditor Evaluation Committee, as well as a member of the Dayton Public Schools Technology Steering Committee. John was also appointed by his colleagues to serve as the District's representative to the FROC Priority Board, one of several neighborhood leadership boards in the City of Dayton.
John is a proud public servant, having served in government at all three levels (federal, state, and local), and in all three branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial). John holds a B.A. from the University of Memphis and a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. He is a resident of downtown Dayton, Ohio.
